What breed are the chickens?They are a Cornish cross chicken, bred specifically as a meat bird.

What are the chickens fed?The chickens are fed a non-GMO meat bird-specific diet, and allowed to free range in the safety of their chicken tractor. They also receive fresh fruits and veggies.

What happens when I reserve a chicken?After reserving a chicken, we'll let you know what day pickup is. The chickens are sold by the pound, so you'll pay at pickup according to the weight of the bird you purchase. Birds come vacuum sealed and frozen.

What is the shelf life of the eggs?Unwashed eggs will last about 2 weeks at room temperature, or 3 months in the refrigerator. If you choose to wash the eggs, they will last about 2 months in the refrigerator.

What breed of chickens are they?We have a variety of breeds, including Black Sex-Linked, Rhode Island Red, Sapphire Gem, Black Australorp, Americauna, Barred Rock, and Olive Egger.

What are the chickens fed?The chickens are fed a non-gmo diet. They are allowed to free range as much as possible, and receive lots of fresh fruits and veggies as a part of their diet.

What color are the eggs?Most of our chickens lay brown eggs. We have some that lay eggs that are blue, green, and pink hues. When purchasing a dozen eggs, you will receive mostly brown eggs and may occasionally receive a colored egg. There is an option to purchase all colored eggs at a small increase in price.

Are the eggs washed?No, the eggs are not washed.

Do you remove any cream from the milk?We do not remove any cream from the milk. How you receive it in the jar is exactly how it came out of the cow.

Do you offer plastic packaging?No, all of our milk is packaged in glass at this time. We run on a jar exchange program to eliminate excess plastic waste.

What are the cows fed?Our cows are on pasture and free choice mineral supplement. They are fed a small amount of grain at milking time as a reward for coming to the milking area and behaving during the milking process.

What is the shelf life of raw milk?Average shelf life of raw milk is 7-10 days. We suggest keeping milk at the back of the refrigerator, where it is coldest, to keep it fresh for as long as possible.

Is the milk for human consumption?Our raw milk is labeled for 'pet use only' in accordance with Florida Statute 502.091(1) which prohibits the sale of un-pasteurized milk for human consumption.

What are the cows fed?Our grass-fed beef cows are raised completely on forage. We offer free choice mineral supplement, and they always have access to fresh water.

How much freezer space do I need?1/4 cow will take up 6-8 cubic feet of freezer space.

What happens after I purchase a share?After you purchase a share, we will update you with an estimated date for meat pickup. We will transport the cow to the butcher, and transport the meat back to Naples, where you will pick it up from us. We ask that you pickup the meat the same day we bring it to Naples, as we do not have the ability to store it for you. Final payment is due upon pickup.

Can I have the organs?Yes, organs, oxtail, heads, etc are all available. There are limited quantities per cow, so please reach out to let us know which items you are interested in so we can coordinate our shares accordingly.

Where is the butcher facility?We use local butchers in either Labelle or Arcadia, depending on which facility had availability when the cow was ready to be processed.

How is the meat packaged?All meat will be vacuum sealed, labeled with the cut, and frozen for pickup.
